Defining Who They Are and How They Connect
Cacao Collective creates science-backed, accessible cacao products that deliver functional nutrition while providing a delightful wellness experience. Rivyl was brought in to refine and consolidate the brand—clarifying who they are, what they do, and why they exist—while ensuring a cohesive, scalable presence. Challenges included streamlining messaging, building efficient design systems, and creating a site that feels both premium and personable. My role focused on UI design, crafting an intentional interface that elevates the brand, communicates educational content clearly, and delivers an engaging, intuitive experience.
Process
The design process focused on translating Cacao Collective’s evidence-based approach into a compelling digital experience that motivates purchase while educating the user. Key priorities included presenting clear, trustworthy information about the health benefits of cacao, highlighting product features through strategic callouts, and visually communicating the preparation process for cacao beverages. Through deliberate information hierarchy, visual cues, and content structuring, the website was designed to guide users seamlessly from discovery to engagement, creating an experience that is both informative and enticing.
Design
The design approach aimed to create a visually engaging and premium experience while maintaining clarity and ease of use. Given that the brand’s primary color is a deep brown, the site was kept light overall to ensure content remained digestible and approachable. Design decisions focused on balancing the goals of building a distinctive, branded experience with a refined, premium feel that never feels overdone. This was achieved by using graphic assets strategically—consistently, neatly, and in alignment with the visual hierarchy—so that each section feels intentional, cohesive, and supports both brand storytelling and usability.
